Version 2.0 of Tsardoms has now been released. This is the definitive version of Tsardoms Total War and includes a host of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks as well as a new faction The Kingdom of Bohemia which replaces the Shadow Hungary faction. There are a tonne of new historical events, characters and ancillaries including the new Byzantine theme system.

We are proud to announce the next version of Tsardoms Total War. This version is not savegame compatible and will require a brand new mod installation.
Installation
- Unpack the mod in the Mods folder of your Medieval 2 Total War folder using the installer. PLEASE ENSURE YOU UNPACK IN THE MODS FOLDER NOT THE MAIN MEDIEVAL 2 FOLDER
- Steam installation: follow the same instructions as above, than go into Steam right click on the Medieval 2 Kingdoms game, go to Properties, then go to Set Launch Options and replace what is there with the following --features.mod=mods/Tsardoms-2.0
Basically for Steam the actual name of the Tsardoms folder and executable file must be there

- economic rework with a reduction of trade income and increase of farming income so that there is a harder choice between agricultural and trade regions
- new host of historical events for Albania including emerging historical characters and rebellions

Extracted in mods folders with 7-zip run Tsardoms-2.0.bat and i get vanilla game opened
Are you using steam? if you are, please follow the install instructions in the description and do not launch using Tsardoms-2.0.bat
No I'm not using steam
Unfortunately we can't help if it's not steam as we are only using steam version. However, it should workout steam as well but have never tried it but i know many people play it easily without steam. Here is a video showing how a guy installs and plays outside of steam Youtube.com
Did same as he did only difference is version he installed is 1.3
Cannot believe but problem was in tsardoms.cfg file I just adjusted resolution and it worked
What did you set the resolution to?
1440x900 that's my monitor resolution
Copy medieval2.exe and rename as kingdoms.exe and solved

Hello mod team, I have a question : Do rebel armies impact the tax rate on cities? Can they cause public order penalties?
Also is there a hotfix for this version
I recall using a UI hotfix for 1.4 can I use it for 2.0 aswell?
Rebel armies don't impact tax rate. But they do cause devastation. The devastation costs you money and also reduces happiness. You can see the devastation as an item in your settlement in finances and in happiness.
We have purposely designed the effects of this devastation to be very severe

Hi, I have medieval 2 total war definitive edition on steam. I installed this mod as instructed, but I get fatal error message when i launch the game. I need some help please...
Can you check in your mods folder in your steam library (D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods) if Tsardoms is not in a folder within a folder (so check if there are not 2 tsardoms folders)?

Ok yeap but if you go there is there a Tsardoms folder within a Tsardoms folder? because that happens when you unpack sometimes. and it should only by one single folder
Hey, I am having the same issue. I have the mod in the same file location and the mod is within only one Tsardoms-2.0 folder. However, I get the fatal error.
I have issue with starting mod... I have steam version of definitive edition medieval total war 2. when I start game from mod folder just starts vanilla version, and when I try to change launch option I get error: Medieval 2 suffered a fatal error and will now exit
I really love the game, specially of the Swiss (my country). But the loadingtime between the round with 1:30 min is very high. Is possible to reduce?
Unfortunately we can't do anything about the turn time. It's due to all of the background scripts
Hi, I have a question, playing for Austria I noticed that the leaders of Bavaria and Switzerland have the same title of duke of Austria as my duke and this title reappears in each subsequent leader after the death of the previous one.
Another question is why I can't get the title of holy roman emperor Duke Ludwig of Bavaria is dead, my duke has authority 10 He has the title of Duke of Austria and ancillary of erzherzog after the unification of all Austrian territories but does not hold the title of Archduke as is required. After conquering all the required Austrian territories he received the ancyllary of Erzherzog instead of the title of Archduke. I stayed in Vienna for three years but did not receive the title, although my leader had a free place for the title. There are no other holders of this title of holy roman emperor. I stayed in Rome for a year but my leader was not crowned emperor by the pope
If I may say, the title of Erzherzog in German language is a translation of the title of Archduke in English. Cheers!

Hello, I'm on turn 86 of my Bohemian campaign and it in the end turn transition, it stops from the St. John Knights to the Ottomans and repeatedly has CTDs. This is continuously persistent despite reinstalling both the patch and hotfix. The log says that it's missing various afternoon textures from the env_maps folder. Here's the last bit of the log from the latest crash. (i can upload the whole thing if you wish).

Excellent mod guys! I just want to report 2 problems I encountered and ask one question. First, when capturing Tarnovo, the game crashes. It did happen in version 1.5 but only if u played the battle. Now it always happens, even if u command surrender_regions bulgaria and take it from the rebels.
Second, if you win the civil war as Kantakouzenos, you don't get access to the Catalan Army script. Should this be resolved if I copy paste the script and replace byzantium with kantakouzenos?
And the question: Are we gonna see a battle map of Constantinople for m2tw in next versions? I mean, if Minas Tirith can have a battle map, why Constantinople can't?

Not sure which Catalan army script? You mean the mercenary script? Yea it probably wasn't added for them. Theoretically you could try and edit the script and replace the names but be careful, keep a back up
No, we won't have Constantinople. Why Minas Tirith? Because fantasy mods are popular and people created it. We have no skills for something like that and the ones who have those skills are not interested in historical mods.

on steam, on Definitive edition, made sure its in the Mod folder, made sure there is not a folder within a folder as previous suggesting on this feed. changed launch option as per installation instructions. I am still getting error message 'medieval 2 suffered a fatal error and will now exit'
