Hello, sorry for my absence let's just say since Riptide got canceled I got really busy trying to learn and improve my modding skills and in particular my mapping skills, and learning more about the Hammer editor. My plans for Riptide going forward is not some massive total conversion beast of a mod but rather simply an enjoyable well-played Half-Life 2 mod with good level design and fun gameplay.
A massive problem I had with the old Riptide was the pacing and design and how well thought out certain levels were and I think it's time to admit the old process of development was quite unplanned and shabby compared to my entire Google document worth of mod development I have now.
Another thing I should mention is some of the original dev team I created for this project Riptide Studios are still helping when they can but I'm the only level designer at the moment QA and playtesting stuff for the new Riptide version has so far been done by Glitter and Aggressive Slav.

UPDATE: This demo map is pretty outdated so some slight inconsistencies may occur in story or gameplay.

nice demo but the apc fight felt boring and got lost until I found that one small *** door next to the garage. But still is pretty good and waiting to see the reworked area and new areas! (I did really like that you put in Half-life alyx music, that was first) 8/10
I was recommended this from a discord server you are on. Just finished playing the demo, pretty cool, how is the mod going?
Not sure if you fixed/added this or not but I feel like it would benefit from some environmental storytelling about who the mc is / what is going on, also i got lost at the end after defeating the APC because it was not clear where I was supposed to be going.
I'm glad you enjoyed the demo! Since that demo was released alot has changed and I'm currently working on a major upgrade for the mod that should address some of the issues you had. Including but not limited to environmental storytelling, main character backstory, and most importantly better player direction overall.
Nice work on the demo! Ending fight against the APC could have been better with ammo crates for smg1 grenade drops instead of an infinite resupply crate. It also makes little design sense as there is no road into the little parking lot, especially any opening for the APC to feasibly get into the arena in the first place.
Otherwise, it was a promising taste of the mod as a whole!
How is the mod coming along?
The mod has started to become more detailed and polished and some new characters have been implemented. Not to mention an enitre map was just overhauled in favor of a more fitting location which I'll have updates on soon!
