Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
One of the many factory-built specialist variants of the common Humvee, the Ambulance acts as a mobile medical support vehicle for US troops in the field. Operated by highly trained crews of medics with a variety of treatment tools for the most common battlefield injuries, this vehicle will preserve the fighting strength of an infantry element under fire. In addition, the Ambulance is equipped for chemo-nuclear decontamination procedures, allowing it to neutralise toxins, radioactive fallout and other hazards with ease. During the GLA War, Ambulances were often attacked by enemy fighters who paid no regard to their protected status under international law - while they themselves were not protected under this either. As a result, most vehicles were retrofitted with machine guns for self-defence. With America's entry into the Russo-European War in 2048, the infamous Shock Divisions - which by then had built a reputation of targeting European medical personnel - extended this treatment to the US, necessitating continued use of these weapons.
As a key participant in humanitarian relief operations, Ambulance crews often have to operate in dangerous environments where armed protection is required, but lethal engagement is forbidden. For these scenarios, the standard machine gun can be replaced with an automatic grenade launcher, loaded with stun grenades to pacify attackers non-lethally for capture.

Interesting! Exploring one of the scrapped concepts of what could've been used in C&C Generals?
Hey this is a weird question but are you not concerned about the usage of red cross symbol with it's special legal status? I mean, a lot of gamedevs including lesser indies were contacted by Red Cross politely asking to change something like a health pickup so it wouldn't use their symbol, are you prepared to also deal with something like that or you're kinda outside their radar as a non-commercial project?
We're just continuing what's in the original game. If the Red Cross asks us to change we will, but we are a very small mod in the scheme of things and likely won't be noticed by a group as important as them.
I think they got a department that just scours any media online looking for misuse since afaik Stardew Valley dev got a request despite only a single cross appearance by the main town squad and etc.
The symbol is still used in the original game if this concerns them they can call up EA :)
Also simply inverting the red and white colours is something that could easily be done if they approach us directly
Side-effect of having to invert the colours, we get Switzerland representation in-game :D
Hooray
Me as a Swiss am filled with honor to clean up all the mess and being one of the first targets to get killed. :D

Can Ambulances transport infantry again in 1.9? A few riding Rangers might come in handy.
They can transport 5 infantry units
This gotta be the backbone of US infantry.
